A Cambridge MA Wedding with A View of the Boston Skyline

It was such a joy to be able to photograph Ani and Drew’s Cambridge, MA wedding, and I’m thrilled to share it today! They really wanted a venue with stunning views of Boston, and the Royal Sonesta certainly delivered. With the Boston skyline as a backdrop, Ani and Drew planned a day filled with significant and special moments for them and their families. Read on to see more!

A Royal Sonesta Cambridge Wedding

If you are looking for a Boston wedding venue with great views, then definitely check out the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge! Ani and Drew’s wedding day here was absolutely beautiful. And the nice thing about this venue is that they were able to have everything take place right on-site. From getting ready, to the ceremony and through to the reception, everything was at the venue. Having minimal travel involved on your wedding day makes for a much less stressful day. It also really allows you to maximize photography coverage.

The best part about Ani and Drew’s Cambridge, MA wedding venue was hands-down the views of the Boston skyline in the background. The hotel sits right on the Charles River and therefore downtown Boston is within view just across the water! Once Ani and Drew were ready we were able to capture their first look along the river, as well as their wedding party and family formal portraits. It was a truly beautiful Boston backdrop.

Unique Wedding Details

Ani and Drew’s wedding was so special because they really made it about the coming together of their two families. They included a candle-lighting ceremony that incorporated both of their moms. They also had two officiants – one from each of their churches. Also included were some traditional Persian dances during the reception and they incorporated several other significant aspects into the day. They were so excited to become one and that really showed throughout their wedding day.

I always encourage my couples to take a private moment together right after the ceremony and before joining the reception to just enjoy being married. It is one of my favorite moments to photograph because the energy at that moment is just so special! Ani and Drew took me up on this suggestion and we were able to capture some really gorgeous sunset photos outside, again with the Boston skyline in the background. Photos with this backdrop were on Ani and Drew’s must-have list, along with some romantic shots of the two of them under Ani’s veil. It was such a pleasure capturing these moments for them.
