I am so excited to share this beautiful Salem engagement photo session today, because not only were Hanna and Kevin a joy to photograph but also because we are counting down the days to their wedding at the end of this month! We chose Salem, Massachusetts for their engagement session for its historic New England charm and proximity to the coast, and had such a good time chatting and walking their sweet pup.
Hanna and Kevin are one of the sweetest and most genuine couples I have had the pleasure of photographing. They first met online, and even though they didn’t live in the same city at the time, they stayed in touch until Hanna eventually moved to Boston. They bonded over their mutual love of Lord of the Rings, and even named their pup Gimli after their favorite character! To my delight they brought Gimli to their engagement photo session, but more on that shortly.
As a Boston wedding photographer, one of my favorite things is getting to hear my couples’ stories of how they got engaged. Hanna and Kevin’s was truly perfect. On a trip to Cape Cod, they rode their bikes to Hanna’s favorite beach. While relaxing and watching the sunset, Kevin surprised Hanna completely and proposed! They were able to spend the whole rest of the week enjoying their time with family and friends on the cape celebrating their big news. So sweet!
Historic Salem Engagement Photos
When we were planning Hanna and Kevin’s Salem engagement photo session, we chose the location not only because that is where the couple lives, but also because it is absolutely filled with historic charm and also located on the water for gorgeous coastal scenery. As I mentioned above they brought along their puppy Gimli, and we were able to capture some really beautiful shots in historic downtown before heading to the beach.
